So there's three: my wonderful, adoring, ever-so-sweet DH, affectionately referred to on the Cooking & Baking Forum as the RG (Resident Gourmand). On a business trip, he'll be back soon.
Then two close male friends. Platonic, of course, but see them a couple times a week.
Oh, and let me add a fourth, my neighbor. See him every couple days.
I will post back to this thread as I meet each one.
I went to the salon and had my hair dyed white today. Some people might call it platinum. That is because the roots were white and I'm sick of touching them up. I'll still have to touch them up, but less often.
This is going from my used-to-be-natural color of brown.
What do you want to bet it takes them a while to figure out what's different? I do not expect a one of them to notice on first glance.
Why? Well, because contrary to what we women think, men don't think a whole lot about our appearance, once they know us pretty well. This is, of course, JMHO.
Yet we women spend a world of time keeping our figures nice, wearing pretty clothes, keeping our hair in shape, etc. But really, they don't notice. That is the point of my thread.
I hope I am proven wrong.

Then see how long it takes him.

(53,235 posts)This is not straight-bashing or gay-bashing. This is just playing the odds.
Also, this change reminds me of this French film.

Now I'm worried that it's a case of "If you can't say anything nice..."
Saw my neighbor, and he said nothing, either. But I had a hat on.

(35,662 posts)My spouse noticed immediately, even at 6 a.m. in the morning, when it was barely light.
Two guy friends did not notice. Have seen both on many occasions and not a word.
I have to conclude this: I think people do so many crazy things with their hair these days that it's just not a big deal to change your hair color. We all know there is blue hair, pink hair, and green hair. I'm a teacher, and notice that a new thing with college students is dying their hair gray. As odd as that sounds, it actually is kind of a striking look.
So changing hair color appears to be about as interesting to others as changing one's shoes.
