Realtor speak -- pet deposit-

I got over the map fudging some time ago. you know, where a listing is referred to as in a popular area, when it is actually only near there: like when a property in the southern part of Germantown shows up as " North Potomac"

close only counts in Horseshoes and Hand Grenades ... and apparently real estate.

Then, of course, we are all familiar with the fixer upper which is in reality a faller downer.

I guess I we'll just have to put up with these little annoyances as "tricks" of the trade.

But, as Poe says in "A Cask of Amontillado", when they venture upon insult, I vowed Revenge.

Let me digress a minute - as many of you know, I have a little dog. Rocky - the name he came with from the shelter and not a reference to Sylvester Stallone.

Sometimes we call him Mr Grumbles, but he is mainly a good little guy. We certainly would not think of going anywhere without him.

So the first thing you look for in an ad or real estate listing is it pet friendly. All
be better if it contains the word, ,"woof"

The the next thing we want to know is how much we have to pay for the privilege of having this sweet little guy.

And this is where the insult comes in. I am okay with the idea of paying for the privilege, but don't piss on my pants and tell me it's raining.

For the record, a deposit is a one-time temporary payment to be retained upon certain conditions and to be refunded upon conditions being met.

There is simply no such thing as anon-refundable deposit. Otherwise it is a fee. Period.

If you intend to keep my money just say so. but for the love of God, don't tell me it's a deposit ... just non-refundable.
