The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsThank you DU, for all the love and well wishes.
After getting checked out, and taking all of the meds, I go back to work on Tuesday.
I've spent the week in bed and not much farther, and my lungs have cleared up from the pnuemonia well enough for my doc to clear my return.
One good thing about being home all week: I can gather LOLcats unobserved.
Thank you all again so much, and I'll see you all on Sunday morning.

(1,268 posts)For me, I was told by ultrasound doctor last month I had blood clot in upper portion of right leg as a result of hip surgery last summer. They caught it in time thankfully. And swelling in ankle is WAY down from where it was originally. So recovering from a scary health issue is certainly a relief emotionally. And the blood thinner meds are why things have improved for me.

(5,141 posts)I had pneumonia for the first time 5 years ago. At first I thought it was a cold, then bronchitis, then I thought i was a hypochondriac. By the time I went to the doctor I'd had it for 3 weeks. My doctor yelled at me.
My cats were quite happy that I was in bed with them for a solid 2 weeks after that though!

(872 posts)Do you have someone to help you or at least check in? As an older person, I know it is scary living by myself.

(8,175 posts)Pace yourself and go home and rest if you need to. I've had pneumonia a few times when I was young and it wasn't so bad, but at my age now, I think it would be pretty serious. We need to really take care of these things when we get older.
I know your furbaby missed you. I don't know how long you were hospitalized...didn't even know you were sick till I saw this thread. Just happy to know you are home and healing.
Spring is here, the fresh air and sunshine will help. I don't know what part of the country you are in, so this may be premature. We have been having spring since January. Some places are getting big spring snow storms.
Anyway...take care and just be good to yourself. And welcome back.
