Every time the Belsomra commercial comes on, he growls at the little fuzzy sleep/wake creatures.
It's really quite humorous.

(60,334 posts)When she is not sleeping, she is always facing the TV when we are in that room. She perks up every time there are animals on TV. Birds really pique her interest.

(115,683 posts)The animators obviously studied very carefully how cats and dogs move. I'd never use the product after listening to the description of the side effects, though.

(14,624 posts)One of our tasks was to evaluate that commercial. I thought it was creepy too. I wrote that I thought both the 'sleep' and 'wake' creatures look more like dust bunnies than cats and dogs. The thought of curling up at night with a dust bunny gives me the skeevies!

(31,167 posts)she has been ever since I watched a Nature special featuring fish. She was enthralled with that.

(14,691 posts)it was just squirrels and chipmunks running around. One of my cats just sat politely but up close to the screen. The other went berserk, pushing buttons and jumping on top looking behind the TV. He pressed the channel changer and changed the video channel from 3 to something else and there went that. For months thereafter that cat spent most of his time staring at the usually blank TV screen, waiting for squirrels and chipmunks I guess. He ignored it before I ran that videotape.

My old man cat (17 years old) has never been interested in the tv until recently. Now he sits right next to it to watch the moving stuff, but he doesn't hit the screen like the kitten.
It is absolutely true that pets teach each other bad behavior!

(4,460 posts)She would go crazy whenever she heard the Masterpiece Theater/Downton Abbey theme in expectation of seeing Isis. There is an ad for our natural gas company that features a dog and she is jumping up the minute the jingle starts, does the same thing for PetSmart commercials.
