O.K. - another one of those wonder foods (in this case a combo) that will increase your life span. Study of a small Italian village of overly fat, cigarette smoker found the 600 inhabitants had a longer than normal life span.
YES - they are exposed to fresh air, fresh caught fish - anchovies - , hike around a lot and have a good gene pool. But a common thread back for centuries is the rosemary/anchovies in their daily diet.
Me, I love anchovies by mushing it on hard Italian slices with a tomato/olives mix and putting it into sauces. Rosemary on lamb and potatoes - wonderful stuff.
Wife leaves the room at the mention of anchovies. Tolerates rosemary.

(29,503 posts)kind of a twist on 'oio e aio'. And I like them in other ways, but I have used them most commonly in this way.
Rosemary is STRONG - I do like it on steak sometimes, but I could live without it.

(16,296 posts)take a few relatively straight rosemary branches from a well-established bush soak them in water for a few hours , remove leaves, put onions/par-boiled little potatoes/marinated lamb cubes on the rosemary skewers and grill on the BBQ - heavenly stuff.
