Last night I did not sleep A WINK. I finally stopped trying around 4:00 a.m. since I had to be at work at 6:00 a.m. I ended up having to work eleven hours on no sleep. So when I get to work I hear from probably three out of five patients AND several other employees that they had a hard time sleeping last night, too. It was a full moon and I've noticed in the past that I have a harder time sleeping during full moons, but anything else going on?

(149,754 posts)I hope you can sleep tonight.
I seem to have trouble falling asleep, but once there, I'm usually OK. I do take a 3 mg. tablet of melatonin and it normally helps a lot. It's an over the counter medication.
Hope things get better for you!

(16,391 posts)I'll try to find it, 'cuz I have a feeling it's going to happen tonight, too. I usually take a very small dose of alprazolam (Xanax) right before bedtime but ran out on Friday and forgot to get it refilled. Usually it doesn't bother me to skip a dose.

(149,754 posts)I don't know where you are, but most pharmacies and grocery stores of any good size have them.
I usually take mine about an hour before I go to bed.

(22,901 posts)No wonder I'm so spacey today. If it wasn't one thing, it was another. My cats making noise at frequent intervals didn't help, either.
I've heard that if you can't sleep to try reading, but I've always been afraid that reading would wake me up even more-- so I don't know what's best. "Tossing and turning" is the pits.
I'm hoping I'll be able to catch up tonight.
Good luck to you!!

(30,947 posts)But I take an over-the-counter sleeping pill and a couple glasses of wine. That usually knocks me out.

(38,021 posts)...it's because my mattress is shot. I'm to get a barely-used replacement mattress sometime near the end of this month. For now, it's all about strategic pillow placement and podcasts.

(206,520 posts)Not to mention that it started on a Friday, so I had to endure the entire weekend. But the dentist I saw was extremely helpful, took X-Rays and made his recommendation for when I went home to my own dentist. But the most important thing was that he prescribed an antibiotic so the pain let up and my face no longer looks like I was concealing a golf ball in my jaw... Thanks!

(16,391 posts)I just read somewhere else here. IMO, that is doing something weird to us sensitive types.

(16,391 posts)It takes so long to kick in. Plus, the place I work still does unannounced testing, so I'm sort of, why bother?
