Hard to believe he just turned 10! I have adopted older dogs, but Jackie found me at 5 months. This is my favorite pic of him:
Brussels Griffon?
Good catch, since I'd never even seen one before until I adopted one, LOL. I've now had two, both rescue, and I've become a real fan. The question I get most often is "What kind of dog is that??" I usually ask if they've seen the movie "As Good As It Gets..." 
The first time I met him, I couldn't even catch him, LOL. But you can see how it was awfully easy to get attached. He's my best buddy and I don't know what I'd do without him...
Looks like he put on a couple of pounds. Still a handsome boy.
He really has grown into a beautiful cat, IMHO. And you wouldn't believe the changes! He really has come come around! Yes, he still bites on occasion, LOL, and he's not quite a lap cat - yet. But he loves affection now, insists on being petted, and he's even curled up next to me when I've fallen asleep on the couch! It just took time... 
I'm partial to black kitties as you know. 
She really is a striking cat, so glad she's healthy and so photogenic! I remember the first pic of her, don't think I ever saw a cuter kitten!
Being one that likes to get out and take photos as a bit of a hobby, I most certainly agree with you!
Something everyone has but no one uses!
