Ethics question.

I bought two tickets - to a football game - Roll Tide - at face value - $300 each. Primo seats Alabama side club level with amenities. Now I can't go. So, I priced them out now - sky high. So, put them on Craigslist for $750 each. I have received at least 20 texts - some within minutes of the post.

I know it's not kosher - but would it be the worst thing in the world to take the ad off and raise the price??

For the $750 price each. You'll feel richer for it in more ways than one.

Too many Craigslist responses are bogus so never hold an item for someone who claims they are on the way.

If more than one person shows up at the same time, have an auction!

I don't know how many times I have had people say they want something and then never show up. It is very annoying, happens with stuff I'm getting rid of for free too. I will never understand people doing that.

Peace

And I am very cautious about promising to show up. I'm always clear with the sellers that if someone else shows up first with the money, they should sell it. That has never happened, though. I've showed up with the cash, checked out the items and bought them.

I haven't done it for a while - when we first moved into our new house I needed some things and found them on Craigslist for great prices.

The last time I had an extra ticket because someone couldn't go at the last minute, I gave it to a woman at the gates hoping to buy a ticket. It was a $50 ticket.

A $300 ticket? I'd sell it for $300, and do my best to make sure it didn't go to a scalper.

going to do.

The market sets the price and you have the right to change your mind, so long as you haven't agreed to sell them to another person already -- and you know what? Even then, so long as you've taken no money, you STILL have the right to change your mind.

It's a football game, it's not saving lives. Get all the money you can! Then, get you some pretty things, or pay an outstanding bill! Enjoy!

Never leave money on the table. Take the most you can get.
Capitalism at its finest. Buy low, sell high. A fool and his money are soon parted. It's only a football game, for Christ sake. For some of these morons, paying an arm and leg for good tickets is bragging rights. Give them something to brag about.

craigslist and ticket scammers ! Most all of those instant responses were from scammers. Have received dozens and dozens of them. they are very easy to pick out like:

"My names is John. I will sends you cashiers check and when it clears I will handle getting the tickets."

I want your tickets. Send me more pictures and your name and address.

So, bottom line, no conundrum. Still have tickets and since 10 days away have been lowering price every day. The way it looks now I will be lucky to cover the cost.

Lots of Lessons Learned

I have never sold tickets online either, so that's some valuable insight in case the circumstances ever arise.
