Florida officials are asking residents to stop spray painting birds

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission is asking the public to stop painting birds, specifically the white ibis.

The bird is protected in the state of Florida and painting them is not only illegal, it's cruel and can cause serious damage.

Last July, the FWC had to remind Florida residents to also stop painting tortoises and turtles.

The white/orange ibis pictured above was taken to Busch Wildlife Sanctuary and is expected to recover.

What is it like to live in the brain that just wakes up and thinks it's a good day to spray paint a bird.
