The end of an era...

We used to go camping, first in a tent, then a folding tent camping trailer, and then a pickup truck camper.
In 1972, After spending a rainy weekend with 4 bored kids, my Dad decided to buy a vacation property.

When we bought the lot, it was covered with trees. At least one every foot and a half.

My Dad bought several trailer homes over the years, each one bigger than the last, putting them in.
He also cleared out many of the trees, and put in a fishing shanty with running water and electricity.

Well, my Dad died in 2010, and my Mom has moved to a nearby assisted living place, due to her health being not so good.

So...the property she lived on, the former vacation spot, (it now has a double-wide trailer home there,) in Oconto county in northern Wisconsin is going to be sold.

I'll miss all the days I enjoyed fishing.

It's almost like a death in the family, isn't it? I know you will miss being there...

I hope you have lots of pictures.....I know you have many memories.

Fishing, going swimming at the local beach on Boot Lake, getting caught in the rain, "catching" a tree with my fishing rod, the years we had weed overgrowths in the lake, lots of good times and a few bad incidents.

We have memories to warm our hearts and make us smile.
