Aspirin can help prevent a heart attack. It can also increase the chance of survival during a heart attack and reduce the risk of a second heart attack.

Heart attacks are caused by a condition called atherosclerosis, otherwise known as clogged arteries. Stated simply, arteries get clogged when plaque builds up on artery walls, caused by too much fat and LDL cholesterol in the bloodstream.
...
Aspirin prevents heart attacks by keeping these blood clots from forming. The mechanism that makes aspirin good for the heart is pretty much the same as the one that makes it good for aches and pains.

Advil, Tylenol, or now Alleve type pain killers being top in most minds.

I totally get why they are doing it, and it reminded me just in time for the pain reliever type change, (y'know where they suggest always using the exact same pr will lead to a resistance, so you're supposed to switch it to an entirely different one every so often?) well it reminded me to get aspirin and by golly working fine, though a few years back I could take 5-6 and get no relief whatsoever.

Not a bad reminder what a versatile drug aspirin can be.

pro-biotic yogurts proven to be more likely harmful with the added biotics, as opposed to those that occur naturally in any active culture yogurt. This one is actually not only stupid, but also expensive and a complete lie, and yet everyone loves JamieLee and her stupid sponsorship of that stupid product.

However, now I'm on a low-dosage aspirin regimen as part of my cardiac treatment --
and I have to be REALLY careful about taking more as I'm already on a strong blood
thinning med to keep those clots from forming.

I remember reading in the 70's about how aspirin was a MIRACLE drug -- MUCH more
effective than in cultures that had been using it for while -- to indigenous primitive
tribes in South America that had never been exposed to it at all.
