Help me remember a word please.

It's a word that would have described Jacqueline Kennedy and Pamela Harriman.

The word that describes a woman who's been groomed (educated, cultured, polished) to be the perfect consort for a powerful man. Like a geisha or a high end professional woman, but with the goal of enhancing the man she marries.

Not a concubine as much as a power wife or kept woman.

Update: Never mind. Found it. COURTESAN.

An elegant prostitute, but still. Or maybe a "kept woman." So I would not place Jacqueline Kennedy in that category.
