Best shampoo/conditioner for getting yellow out of silver hair?

I've tried Jhirmack. Meh. It's fine on the gray hairs, but not doing much for the brassiness on the older, colored part of my hair.

Anything better out there? (Also, really need a purple conditioner because my hair is so DRY!)

But I swear by Wen. It's pricey but it the only product that I have used on my hair that gives it any body and keeps it from breaking. It maintains moisture and gives a great deal of bounce and shine.

I buy it through qvc which has best price. Just be aware it isn't like regular shampoo. It doesn't lather and you need to use quite a bit. Make sure you watch the tutorial. My once dead and lifeless silver hair is now shine and bouncy. I won't use anything else. Ymmv. My sister hated it

I saw an infomercial for it (lol, i know...but sometimes they tell the truth don't they?) but what caught my ear as I was surfing by was that it has no detergents like <anything> laureth/laurel sulfate. That shit is in almost every commercially available shampoo out there and its' only purpose is to create lather because way back when some marketing puke convinced people that lather was a good thing. Detergent is there ONLY for appearances because people THINK they want lather. It does you no good and often harms your hair.

It was even worse when some shampoos used formaldehyde (Pert was one but I think they stopped doing that a long while ago).

I have blond hair with the front turning white, I tried L'Oreal's purple conditioner and noticed it did tone down the yellow. I don't know about the shampoo though. Good luck. Someone in the lounge knows a whole lot about hair stuff, maybe she will see this and chime in.

to the top of my head, but if I pull my hair up in a bun, the back is still mostly chestnut! Turning into a silver fox is gonna be a loooong process. LOL The good news is that I am making peace with the grey and am starting to find it pretty, actually.

My hair is feeling pretty fried, so I am hoping to find something that will definitely soften it up. I am hearing bad things about a couple of brands as far as drying your hair out, so I am hoping someone out there has found the right thing for treated hair.

I've had gray hair for thirty years, and it never occurred to me to use a special shampoo or conditioner for it. I just use the regular stuff, but I've never colored it either.

I use Pantene Pro V Silver Expressions.

My hair is naturally dishwater colored but it can get brassy at times, especially when I've tried to lighten it or dye it a real brown color. It just wants to be red, and that's that.

The white hairs are starting to pop out more and more now, and I find that the Pantene makes my whole hair look so much better.

a couple of variations of it and it left my hair covered in what felt like wax and made my "clean" hair look like it hadn't been washed in a week. I had to use citrus dish soap to get it out, and it took multiple washings before it was finally gone.

So if you want to try it, you'd need to do some research. We did use it on the horses without any problems, but LOL!
