I just lost an argument with my cat.

Last edited Fri Nov 4, 2016, 06:57 AM - Edit history (1)

I'm getting ready for bed and the cat comes up to me and meows.
I asked "what?"
She meowed again.
"You're not out of food"
She meowed again and started walking to her bowl.
"You're not out. See"
Meowed again.
"What, no. You don't need more"
Meowed again.
I got another scoop of food for the dish.

Pinkie the cat got the better of my half stoned ass just now.

He meows loudly and I try to ignore him, but eventually get up. He looks back and meows to make sure I am following him to the kitchen. Then meows until I put the dish of food down. After which he takes maybe two bites, then walks away.

Cat walks into the living room, looks at me. "Meow! Meow! Meow! Meow!" (I think he's part-Siamese so the meow is particularly piercing). "What do you want?" I ask. "Meow! Meow! Meow!" Assuming he wants a treat I get up, walk into the kitchen. "You want something more to eat?" "Meow! Meow! Meow!" I give him some cat treats, which he eats, but then he looks up at me and says "Meow! Meow! Meow!" "What do you want now?" "Meow! Meow! Meow! Meow" I toss him a couple more treats and go back into the living room and sit down. Cat follows me, hollering "Meow! Meow! Meow!" I get up again, walk toward the kitchen, and the cat runs ahead of me, meowing loudly and looking back at me over his shoulder. But he stops near the half-bath door, sits down and glowers at me. "Meow! Meow! Meow!"

And then I get it. One of the other cats had used the litter box and left an unburied poo in it; this was absolutely unacceptable. Cat was telling me he could not use the box until the offending poo was removed. He was not going to get his paws dirty burying some other cat's poo. So I scooped the box and everything was fine - not another word from the cat until dinner time.
