but now live in Colorado where it is GO ROCKIES! unless the Dodgers are in town.
Watched a special on the Bums night before last on the Doc channel, I think. Reminded my why I chose them over all the other teams growing up on the east coast.
Spent many days and evenings in Connie Mack, especially when the Dodgers were in town.

In the NL, I root for the Nats because I live here and well...someone has to root for the Nats because most of DC is from somewhere else and roots for their hometeam.

The Astros will be starting from scratch for the next 3-4 years. It's not going to be pretty.
And I predict the Rangers will be the Buffalo Bills of the World Series...

when the Impossible Dream team beat my Twins for the pennant on the last day of the season. They played so hard and gallantly that I just couldn't hate them. And the Sox had been pretty downtrodden for a long while before that.

I also lived in Boston when I was in grad school and went through the unspeakable heartbreak of Game 6 in 1986. So the Sawx are near to my heart.

I have been a Cubs fan since I figured out what baseball is.

That would be some time in the 1950's.

Come to think of it, if the plan to bring the A's to San Jose falls through, the Giants' AAA team in Fresno would fit nicely in a scaled-down version of the downtown ballpark; other clubs such as the Braves and Padres have moved to bring their high affiliates into the home market.

But I have a soft spot in my heart for the Astros, the Reds and the Orioles. As long as they aren't playing the Rangers I'm rooting for them.

My grandpa and I went to the Astros/Yankees Spring training game last Saturday and watched the two teams combine for 9 homers. Yankees won but I think we could have come back in the 9th if the game hadn't got cut short for rain. We already had a man on base...

Only because we can't get MLB here in Portland and they took our AAA team away a couple of years ago.

I've been a fan since the Mets returned National League baseball to NYC after the departure of the Dodgers and Giants.

But the Mets held no grudges against those teams and actually adopted their colors (Dodger Blue and Giants Orange) for the Mets uniforms.

Perennial underdogs, always in the shadow of the Yankees, they on occasion prove to be the little engine that could.

Could be an interesting year... hated to see Pineda go (especially to the evil empire), but we might have a little bit more offense this year
