And made him give me a package that felt like a blanket....it is nice and toasty. Took him a few tries... but finally I got one.

If it's a major chain store they will often send you a replacement at no charge.

you'll see it in a month or so.

That's the dumbest thing I've heard of. UPS comes to my street daily, but somehow it's cheaper for everyone involved if UPS gets it across the country in a couple of days and then drops it at the post office who then take another 3-5 days at best to get it to my house.

I had a box of dog food go missing. LARGE box, hard to miss.

Well, I called the company and they shipped a new one for free and three days later a neighbor one street over with a different street name, different address number and different name from mine brought the box to my house. Have no idea how it ended up with her but thank goodness she was an honest person.

Fed ex uses outside sources for delivery and they may not have as much experience. When the new box arrived, it was a guy driving a Budget rental truck who delivered it.

So when a box gets dumped somewhere, UPS and Fed ex say they delivered it and that's the end of that. I got a light fixture that was supposed to go to somebody in Texas and no one would come and take it back. Like nobody wanted to admit a mistake.
