(1,756 posts)Just got back, but the interview went stellar.....it was a cold approach, was referred by a friend of a friend, so shaking hands with the interviewer was our first contact. After a brief few minutes of pleasantries, I gave him my resume......his eyes lit up and he even called in someone else to see it....they were both practically jumping and dancing at my experience He all but said "you're just the man we've been looking for!"
A mere 15 minutes later, he was shaking my hand and telling me to expect a call....tomorrow morning!
I don't like counting chickens....but I'm 99&44/100ths % sure I got this! Yes!
Thank all of you for the love this morning, it meant a lot, I was practically shaking wile getting dressed.
P.s., I forgot how sexy I look in a suit!

(825 posts)It used to be part of my job to help others get a job.
Get paper and pencil ( better than computer IMO for the task). Write down in complete sentence form, every good thing you have done related to you work.
Example: I developed a new system for tracking enrollment making the process easier to manage and more accurate.
Brag about yourself. Think of concrete examples. You get the point. Do NOT be brief. Use the jargon of your profession. Carry this wherever you go and write everything that occurs to you.
Then write a few related to your personal life... coaching Girl Scouts etc.
Hopefully you will have pages.
Add to it any explanations you think you might need like possibly why the 11 months of unemployment. Why you left your first job.
Before the interview read over everything several times.
Result: You will present yourself very well, you will be eloquent, you will be much less nervous. Trust me. If you want this job do the prep work.
You won't need luck!
