I like both Suspense and the CBS Mystery Theater.

Try out the original The Shadow some time, with Orson Welles playing the lead role.

And then there's the 50's SciFi programs, like X Minus 1. Lots of good stuff on those including Ray Bradbury and Isaac Asimov, among others. Two great ones from the series: The Veldt by Bradbury, and Nightfall by Asimov.

Old time radio is incredible.

My fave? That's easy. Beyond the spooky and mysterious is the best ever... The Goon Show from the great Auntie Beeb (BBC). Starring Peter Sellers, Spike Milligan, and Harry Secombe.

Here they are:

(L-R: Sellers, Secombe, Milligan)

Here's Peter and Spike as Bluebottle and Eccles in a classic Goon Show bit: What time is it, Eccles?

A man is trapped in a lighthouse by rats. Vincent Price did all the narration as the man. Don't listen to it with the lights off.

Big Shadow fan, Orson Welles, Mercury theatre, etc. X minus one. Rod Serling had one in the 70s called the zero hour.
