So I killed it in the first interview But after a few days of no contact, I started to get worried. I can never tell whether or not I've crossed the line from aggressive to needy. I waited until Thursday, one week after my interview to contact them.
I left a message.
The next day I got a call back asking me to come in for a second interview.
I just got home.......I'M EMPLOYED!
I start a week from tomorrow!
Thank you to everyone who sent the good vibes my way, it was and still is very much appreciated.

(17,304 posts)you have to establish the ground rules. Go in there, put your feet up on the desk, assign someone to screen your calls, send somebody else out to pick up your lunch, start dropping hints about a raise.
Don't let them take advantage of you, fNord!!!
Congrats!!!

Well keep it under wraps
fNord
(1,756 posts)And I try not to "smoke" wile unemployed. Not because I'm afraid of being tested, in my line of work that's never an issue. But I don't want the lack of motivation.
Now, on the other hand, I'm going to have a celebratory bowl!

(2,191 posts)In the movie "Dave," Kevin Kline runs a job service and he says: "If you've ever seen the look on somebody's face the day they finally get a job, I've had some experience with this, they look like they could fly."
I've always found that to be true, and I've been out of work a few times, myself, for extended periods.

(44,576 posts)It was a for a basic mailroom job on Wall Street -- his school sent about half a dozen kids there, and were given an aptitude test. Within two days, four of the six heard they got the got the gig, he didn't. But a about a week and a half later, they called: he didn't get the job because he did so well on the mathematical part of the aptitude test, they put in him a training program!
Congrats!

I found a job a month later, then went to college instead....

Sorry this took a bit for me to reply, but I've been in a state of sublime...and...is danciness a word?
Truth I've been opening old boxes trying to find work clothes and my old swagger, both of witch I need to work. Found some, had to run out and find the rest.
I'm good now....but could always use another foot washing
littlemissmartypants
(22,655 posts)And YES, danciness is definitely a word. I was in it all day yesterday. As a matter of fact, I plan to die in a dancing accident.
I'm really excited for you.
Thanks for the reply. ♡

(53,410 posts)Once I got a job because after filling out the application I returned in a week and asked them if they still had job openings. They said yes, and asked me if I wanted to fill out an application. I said, "No, I've already filled one out for you. I just want to see if the job is still open"
I got the job because they figured I must want it.
And in your case they might think that those who really wanted it would call back after giving such a great interview.
But no matter what the reason, Congratulations!
