Wow. Broadchurch......WOW! UK drama, two spectacular seasons.

We just binge watched both seasons on Netflix streaming. Second time for the first season - just brilliant. But we watched season 2 for the first time.

it is so refreshing to see a show that is not afraid to be patient, gradual, complex - and not treat the audience like they are idiots. It certainly took some effort to untangle the thick accents from some of the characters (David Tennant!).

One of the best series we've seen in a long time.

We wouldn't even touch the US version - just based on a tendency for US remakes to butcher excellent foreign movies and series.

Both brilliant BBC crime dramas as good as Broadchurch?

The Fall had Gillian Anderson (excellent) and Jamie Dornan (creepy/excellent)
Shetland has so far been based on the novels of Ann Cleeves

There is a Danish? version .. TV Series (2007–2012). most excellent

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0826760/?ref_=nv_sr_3

and then they made a US version which is actually very good, mostly due to the 2 leads
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1637727/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

I saw and liked both, very much.

I've seen the first two episodes of season three and think they are keeping the quality going...great show.
I generally prefer British mysteries and period pieces. The sets and costumes and general attention to detail
seems a step or two above most US produced shows. Another one I just finished the first season of is called
Taboo. A bit violent but intriguing plot line and characters.
