(95,337 posts)Coming to America.
I loved the scenes in the Barber shope where both Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall played multiple characters. They also did multiple characters in the bar scene (Arsensio Hall as a woman flirting with Murphy and Hall was riotious) and the church fundraiser event.
"Coming to America" was such a great movie, hiliarious as hell and very fresh topic. I think it went to Murphy's head and suddenly he thought he could play multiple characters in all of his movies and people would buy it. Sometimes it worked (Like the first "Nutty Professor" but most of the time it's like 'Not that tired old crap again'. Multiple Murphy roles only work when the script is killer, more often than not the scripts suck

(12,904 posts)I just watched it this weekend. My favorite character that he does is that perfectly horrible singer in the benefit concert that sings "I believe that children are our future..."

(6,996 posts)In Tim Burton's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005) all of the Oompa-Loompas are played by a single actor, Deep Roy. His work was so time consuming (shooting the same moves over and over) that Burton raised his salary for the film to a cool $1 million bucks.

(9,465 posts)In "That Obscure Object of Desire" had two actresses playing the same role. They didn't look even remotely alike, and it confused the hell out of me for a while.
But then Buñuel tends to have that effect on a lot of people.
