I just realized my cat is living the fucking life...

Harpo is currently sleeping on the second floor of his carpeted scratching cat tree in a bed that has been covered in cat nip.

He is fed daily and has many toys to play with.

This is equivalent to me falling to sleep in a bed covered with good marijuana, waking up to be served meals I don't have to prepare and playing with various toys that I can destroy if I wanted, only to know they'll be replaced for free.

have completed their training of me. I know when to open the door so they can go in or out, as needed. I fill food and water dish on command. Play fetch with Mia, also on command. I also ensure adequate space on my lap for them, who wants to lie down anyway? Yep, I am a well trained human.

Then I chase him or he chases me. I'm pretty lucky to have such an appreciative cat. He pretty much sets the agenda of this household. Including dropping toys on my sleeping face in the middle of the night when he wants to play fetch. I've recently started making them work to get at their dry food with a dispenser in hopes that they throw up less.

I know how it felt for me an my ex but think how the poor dog felt. You all do realize cats are from a different planet and decided to find one where the beings would be stupid enough to cater to them?

The other two are napping on my bed. The floor is littered with cat toys. The food bowls are full. There is fur on everything. Tomorrow morning at least one cat will pester me to get up and get them more food, and I will obey. The cats will eat and one of them will probably throw up. I will clean up the puke. The cats will sit by the window and watch birds for awhile, and then sleep some more - while I do housework and pay bills.

Ain't it the truth? My cat is so spoiled, he refuses to drink from his bowl, so several times a day I am summoned to the bathroom to turn on the water in the sink for him. He will watch it for a while and then have his drink. (but not if I'm standing there, of course) Then I open the appropriate windows for his viewing pleasure and we can proceed with our day. Yes, I am his very well-trained 'staff'. And I love it!

when she realizes I am awake, rubs my legs for a good pet then zips out. She is my youngest and was a very feral kitten.

I could write a book about the Socialization of the Princess, but she has now decided that our waterbed is hers and she has taken to sleeping with me at night. A major victory there.

Before we got her and her siblings TNRd, she and her twin were called The NInjas.
