If man is considered to be part of the animal kingdom, animals smell the butts of others to see where they have been, to get to know them better. Is it okay to smell butts while walking down the street or in stores??

Is it a legal use of your nose??

2. When my dog tries to smell my cat's ass unbidden...

The dog usually gets its nose scratched up.

Sort of extrapolate that out into the human world of carry permits, etc.
