I got a 5.5-ounce bag yesterday at the one in Landmark Plaza on the western edge of Alexandria, Virginia. I haven't seen them at the Dollar Tree in about two years. I got some of those addictive shortbread cookies too.
I'll bet you're wondering how much they cost.

(4,243 posts)I like Dollar Tree, but it's hit or miss and if you don't grab it now it may be weeks, months, or years until you see it again.

I emailed a friend in the expectation that he and his son will head out and buy some for themselves.
Isn't it The American Way to take what you need and leave the rest?
Oh, wait....

(779 posts)I would buy five of them every day after lunch and eat them in the following class. The teachers would bust kids for chewing gum, but I never got in trouble for the fireballs. Such spicy, cinnamon-y goodness. I felt like I was addicted to them. I haven't had one in many years.

Picture for illustration purposes only. There are far more in the 150-piece tub than in the 5.5-ounce bag that I got. I think there are forty or so in the bag.
Naturally, they keep cutting the weight. I think the last time I saw them at DT, the bags held 6.5 ounces. I have an old bag at home.
That's right, I'm an Atomic Fireball prepper.

(779 posts)At the time, I had a higher tolerance for spicy food, and did not appreciate the health implications of eating all that sugar. Also I remember them being really cheap.

It was like this, but it was clear.

(3,447 posts)We have this lil Amish store not toooooo far from where I live where they have basically 'knock offs' (homemade candies) of many popular candies like Sprees, Sweettarts, and yes...Atomic Fireballs. And while not QUITE as hot as a real one, the flavoring last about twice as long somehow, so it's a pretty fair tradeoff. Mix the two in a bag and draw them randomly and you'll be set for yummy munchin'.
Not nearly as cheap, of course! Now I think I need to go grab me a bag of these. I like that Dollar Tree, all the other ones aren't a Dollar anymore (like 'Dollar General', where few items are $1. Go figure! ).
