First two down. Each night is themed, announcement by a donut giveaway pre show. Tonight's donut is Red Velvet, with cream cheese frosting.
Last night was strawberry and the band opened with this
The band is finding ways to still be creative, 25 years since the beginning. Most bands would be in the casinos, playing the Fair, but Phish has managed to keep things fresh, this run illustrating that, forcing them to play new music and finding new ways around the music.
There is a lot of talk about them going all 13 shows without repeating a song as well. That would be amazing if possible, but would mean they have to play songs long shelved (already happened) and lots of covers (see above).
My hats off to em. I love em, seen the band a 100 times or so and cannot wait for my next. Along with a couple of others (damn few others) they are the best band touring.
They also stream every show at www.livephish.com

(100,068 posts)The price actually wasn't as bad as I thought - the 13 show package was something like $950 plus taxes and fees, which works itself out to $71 a show, and I've paid that to see Phish alone. But then you add flight plus hotel for that many nights in New York City and you're looking at spending at least $5,000 on that trip.

(3,569 posts)All crashing with friends, or staying out of Manhattan then taking transit in. I don't know any New Yorkers doing all 13 though (except Trey that is).

(100,068 posts)But I don't and traveling was ridiculously expensive, unless I want to go for broke.
So I'll stream a couple of the shows online instead. That 30 minute jam on Lawn Boy yesterday...

(3,569 posts)So no. I stream via ustream. But not every show, or entire shows. What I've seen is pure fire though. I'll be ripping the rest of last night later today...

(3,569 posts)A 30+ minutes lawn Boy! (Most are around 2 minutes). Incredible night of music. 5 song sets, and Rasberry Beret as the walk out music. People are flipping the fuck out over last night.

(100,068 posts)Definitely one of Phish's best albums so far. Also really liking Trey Anastasio's most recent solo album Paper Wheels.

(3,569 posts)They've been hitting it well. The last few have been on the nose, so many songs make the cut, and stay. (Time Turns Elastic being a notable exception)

(100,068 posts)Particularly "The Line", "Halfway To The Moon", "Waiting All Night", and "555".

(3,569 posts)TONIGHTS FLAVOR is POWDERED (traditional powdered sugar). As a reminder, were giving out donuts made by the fine folks at Federal Donuts at each show of The Bakers Dozen. Supplies are limited and will be offered to ticket holders when doors open (first come, first served). #phish #bakersdozen #phishbakersdozen
Sugar Shack is the obvious choice.
