No one had a cell phone in 1977. There might be a video of the event somewhere. I was hoping to find a performance from "Austin City Limits," but this should work. Take it away, Jackson Browne:
So that will be this weekend's tune.

Seriously, Thank You! JB is one of my all time faves; seen him live about a dozen time too.

(27,797 posts)I love all of Jackson Browne's albums, especially "For Everyman"
My favorite Jackson Browne song is "Red Neck Friend" with David Lindley on slide guitar, Glenn Frey helping out on vocals, and Elton John on piano (he calls himself "Rockaday Johnnie"
I used to play drums to "Redneck Friend" and when I sold that drum set, the guy who bought them told me that "Redneck Friend" was a song Jackson Browne wrote about his "Johnson"
"And see if we can't get in touch with a very close friend of mine
But let me clue you in, it ain't like him
To argue or pretend
Honey let me introduce you to my redneck friend"
"Honey you shake and I'll rattle and we'll roll on down the line
We're gonna forget all about the battle
It's gonna feel so fine
"Cause he's the missing link, the kitchen sink
Eleven on a scale of ten
Honey let me introduce you to my redneck friend"
"Running on Empty" is a great album; but so is "For Everyman"
