The movie Wind River - hard but important

It came in August, I think, but we caught it at one of the art theaters.

First, the scenery is amazing. Filmed in Utah in the winter, during blizzards, it is breathtaking. (Utah stands for Wyoming).

But the main point is the almost hopeless lives of Native Americans, especially the women. The reality of, when a crime is committed, who is there to help? They are under Federal jurisdiction, but do Federal agencies care?

I think that someone tried to pass a law aimed specifically at domestic abuse in tribes. I don't know that it passed.

Still, a movie that makes one think, with great cast. I think that any movie with Jeremy Renner cannot go wrong.

Yes, it is a Weinstein movie. Give him credit. He has been behind many great movies that may not have been done were it not for him.

I saw it in August in the theatre. I agree - the cast is exceptional...Elizabeth Olson and Jeremy Renner gave Oscar consideration performances - at least IMHO.
