Incredibly impactful - perhaps the most important TV show we've ever watched.

We are now reading Tim O'Brien's book "The Things They Carried". Just simply remarkable.

And yes - what we are seeing has been going on for a long, long time.

Ken Burns has rendered a genuine public service in recounting how we got into that God-awful quagmire. So instead of avoiding it---because of a beloved cousin's coming home from that war with raging PTSD and killing himself---I ended up watching and appreciating it. In my cousin's memory. Highly recommended, if you can manage it.

and how the Republicans were instrumental in promoting that division for their political advantage. I think we as a nation still haven't recovered from it.

I would also encourage reading the book "A Bright Shining Lie: John Paul Vann and America in Vietnam" for great details on how US naiveté, ignorance, and arrogance combined to create the catastrophe of the Vietnam War.

The site says it will be available till 15/10. Bummer. I was going to watch it, but 18 hours over 3 days?

I'm sure it will surface somewhere else.
