IMHO white privilege is just a fact. But apparently it's also a colour...

I am 1/2 white, 1/2 Chinese myself. I mostly look white, I'd say about 90%. For me white privilege isn't a derogatory concept. It's simply a factual truth about how our society is structured. It's not a statement of blame at any one individual. It's part of the sickness that our whole society has to work on.

But I have a friend who works at a paint store who just showed me this. Apparently it's a colour swatch too LOL.

Edit: And sadly I talked with my friend and apparent their store had to change the name of this watch because a number of customers got very offended. Boohoo, world's smallest violin.

Apparently they had to change the name of this colour swatch because a lot of customers got offended when they saw it.

The first thought that ran through my head was, wow your offence is just proving the point of the joke. You get to be offended by a colour swatch with a name on it. Black people have to worry that their entire lives might be fucked if they happen to be randomly stopped by a cop for nothing at all.

In Japan, you have Japanese privilege. It's part of being the majority group. In Zambia, many years ago, I was followed constantly by the police. Why? As Al Sharpton would say, It was because I am a not person of no color cave beast.]

It doesn't change the argument. Merely the focus. The fact of the mater that the skin colour of the majority people receive a great deal of privilege merely by being born that colour is a problem. Yes it's true that in other nations the same thing exists for other colours. I'm not arguing that this is inherently a white thing. But it certainly is within the culture that I live in. And that's all I'm speaking too.
