Though I do not post here ( I almost never post outside the main forums ) I am a socialist, and on economic matters have never posted anything that would be in opposition to a group charter here.

I have no intention of pressing an argument with you here, over the accusation you level at me. If you did not know threads started in groups will come up on the Latest Page, now you do. It depends on a member's settings, what shows. Mine have been on the standard default settings for a good while now.

Welcome to the Socialist Progressives Group. Posts in this group should generally be supportive of socialism and socialists. We are largely anti-capitalist and will not tolerate red-baiting. We welcome leftists of all persuasion as allowed per the admin's TOS. Democratic (ballot box) socialism, revolutionary socialism, Syndicalists and autonomists are all ok. Pure black flag (as opposed to red/black) anarchists who would rather organize with any anarchist than socialists, including anarcho-capitalists and libertarians, will not be welcome. If you don't know what kind of anarchist you are, cool, so long as you don't hijack and red-bait. This includes no "you're a dictator-lover" if you support the Russian Revolution. CPUSA members, please chime in.

Social Democrats are welcome with the explanation that if someone believes in "regulated" capitalism and social programs, they're a Keynesian, not a socialist. We welcome your questions as long as you're pleasant and don't red bait or shift the discussion away from socialism. You'll find many of us support Obama and his re-election given our two-party system, but this is not the forum to talk about the intricacies of elections - see Politics 2014 for those conversations. We are more concerned with safe-guarding the working class gains we've made in this country thus far and encouraging the peaceful transition to socialism. Please no Trotsky or Stalin baiting, we've all seen it fracture groups and do not want to fight that battle again.

I think it was during W's regime if memory serves, might have been during the time of the Venezuela coup.. I don't quite remember specifics. but I enjoyed a few exchanges with you and others at the time regarding Socio-economic policy matters, which of course spilled over into issues of Socialism vs Capitalism principles.

Regarding current events in Ukraine, I believe there is evidence of both East-West propaganda being promulgated - and it's extremely difficult to parse out the "truth" on every given situation being reported due to a variety of several factors, not the least from which ideological point of view reports are being generated But I found myself surprised and disappointed to see you defend Western Propaganda over and above Eastern propaganda to the point of attacking the credibility of others attempting to counter typical Western narratives.

please feel free to read our welcome paragraph and chime in. We are a protected group and we have written our statement of purpose and posted it at the top of the group.

We are for the most part progressive socialists and communists in this group. If you look down the threads you will see I have posted about Ukraine in here and basically my position is the same as the KKE (the communist party of Greece). I looked at your Counterpunch article and you are most welcome here afaic.

I've been out of town to our National Congress of Worker's Power, so I haven't been here much over the last few days. Sorry if I've missed something, but I'm sure TBF and Starry have kept things under control.

We are a protected group, but there are only a couple of "greatest sins" here. Otherwise, we encourage all leftist debate. We WILL disagree, but we try to keep it to disagreement on issues, NOT personalities.
