Been digging in a barn for a few weeks now and

have found lots of stuff. Made some money and filled a booth at the mall, but my best find, to me, is not worth much, just cool because of the memories of my college days in the 60s. Some blanks application cards to join the Students for a Democratic Society. One year membership, $2.00 or bulletin subscription for $1.00.

of post cards. Took less than a 1/10 of them into the mall and made back half of what I spent on them. I've found about 20 that will have to go on EBay. I think he has a a couple of more boxes of them stashed somewhere. Even found some "hold to light" ones. Lots of boats, santas, easter, trains, most from turn of the century.

I love sorting post cards. Got a couple thousand on my desk right now. My "keepers" mostly.

Are you informed on postmark collecting? I have had some buyers go through my cards just to look for collectible postmarks. I should know more about that.

Some years ago I bought a postcard collection at a library sale. They had belonged to a retired architect. He collected them in England about 1910. That was a really fun bunch, and all mint. I still have quite a few of those.

I know some folks collect those. I had always thought one guy that came into the mall had bad eyesight because he always held every card up the to light and looked at them. Turns out there are "hold to light" cards people look for. Some of the best ones, price wise, are early sports ones. Real photos of college football teams and pro baseball teams from the turn of the century.
