New Pokemon XY anime series to air Oct 17

The latest Pokemon TV series has been announced, and it’s due to air this fall. Will Ash finally achieve his dream of becoming a Pokemon Master? I wouldn’t count on it.

The starting date for the series is set to coincide with the release of the new games.

The new series will premiere in Japan on Thursday Oct 17, the day after the launch of the latest Pokemon games for the Nintendo 3DS, Pokemon X and Y.

The creatively titled Pocket Monsters XY will follow Ash and Pikachu to Lumiose City in the center of the Kalos region, which is also the game’s starting town. There they will make new friendships and encounter never-before-seen pokemon. (How many Pokemon are we up to now? I think I lost count somewhere along the way.)

Join them on their latest adventure as Ash (still) seeks to fulfil his dream of becoming a Pokémon Master by winning the Kalos League.

Satoshi/Ash will never become a Pokemon master. It's too much of a cash cow to really develop characters IMO.
