The French Institute Alliance Francaise (FIAF) AnimationFirst festival is great!!
Ends on the 15th so only two more days to watch (really need a week--I signed up a couple days ago and am catching up). Films from all over the world, long and short animation. Great artistry, politics, mythology, psychology, it's got everything. Cost of ticket for entire festival $20 plus about $2 fee. (I'm not connected to it in any way, I just love animation.)
