I don't know what that metal thing attached to the blue rope is, but it's very interesting looking. Wondering what it's used for. ??? The shells are quite nice, too.

You did a great job of exploring the rectangular shapes in every part of your canvas and then adding the very intricate design of the rug in a somewhat flattened two-dimensional way. This is an exciting painting because of your use of solid colors that add another dimension to the lines and rectangles and their interplay with the edges of your canvas. The objects like the candleholders and the lit candles as well as the fire irons, the potted flowers and the sofa pillows ground the painting and helps the viewer see that this is a still life of a room inside a house.
