Nomenclature question for artists regarding sketches

Three examples and then my question:

A newspaper cartoon historically has a certain range / amount of detail. Far Side, Calvin and Hobbes etc.

Similarly, a Bugs Bunny cartoon has a range.

Both of these and portrait artists and caricature artists will likely do a pencil sketch. The sketch may be quite sparse (not much detail at all)

Is there an official term or informal term better than “sparse sketch “ ?

Indicating the details and shading have not been filled out.
Not certain this is a technical expression, but have heard it used and adopted it for my own use. Hope this helps.
