New art tool...an Epilog 36" x 24" 50 watt laser...

...so, I'm now lasering graphics on stuff.

Here are some examples/prototypes done for the artist GERMS http://www.germs4u.com

Art by GERMS, prototype, by me - Enamel, acrylic and gold leaf on lasered wood panel, 8" x 10" - feb2112

GERMS lasered frame, for 8" x 10" piece. Art by GERMS, lasered onto wooden frame with gold leaf, prototype by me. - feb1312

5" x 7" oval wood laminate frame, Art by GERMS, 3D laser imaging - raw, unfinished prototype, V1.3. - feb2112

We're working towards a show at La Luz de Jesus in Hollywood, CA, June 2012.

Besides this kinda stuff, there will be some stained glass works, and the usual brand of unusual GERMS paintings in the exhibit.

http://www.laluzdejesus.com/newshows/2012/index.html - scroll down to June 1st.

BTW, before anybody asks...GERMS the painter is an honorary member of GERMS the band, as he received the "germs burn" from Don Bolles several years ago.

Also, the germs4u.com web site is seriously outdated by now, he uses facebook to promote - of which I refuse to become a member - so you may look him up there for updates if interested.

...GERMS is the artist, I am his "technical adviser," I guess you could say.

(I also do original "fine art," but I have largely ceased that, as I have been focusing on my band, Green Sparkle Frog, in my spare time - link below.)

I made the GERMS web site (which needs serious updating, but he uses Facebook now to promote himself), I create imaged sponges for printing which he uses in his paintings, I do his t-shirt development, color seps and production, I oversee the stained glass stuff we're developing, I prepare and layout stuff that needs printing, such as business cards and promo postcards, I've printed giclees for limited editions, and now I laser stuff for him.

In return, I have a very substantial collection of his original art, over a hundred pieces, from very tiny - one painting is about the size of a postage stamp, without its frame - to large pieces in the 3' x 6' to 4' x 8' range, and everything in-between. Needless to say, I am pulling for him to be hugely successful - his prices are now getting to the point where I'd have a hard time affording his work without the exchange for my services, or the substantial price breaks he gives me on the larger pieces.

Also, my son, who is exactly one month younger than GERMS, is a master printmaker, and also occasionally collaborates with GERMS on print projects, such as etchings and serigraphs.

If you're anywhere near L.A., you may want to consider checking out the GERMS show this coming June at La Luz de Jesus in Hollywood.

If you enjoy representing GERMS, and you want to do more of that, I am looking for someone to push my art . It's not easy tooting my own horn when i would do so much better work if I could just create. I love DU! This is where i get my news and stay abreast of shit going on. Mostly I am in my studio, head down and creating. it is life to me.

...lemme know what you think I may be able to help you with.

I looked at you web site, you seem to be working in a fairly unique medium, with excellent and beautiful results - what might I bring to your situation that would help you out?

...combined into the finished piece:

...30 Gs.

I did not buy it, I just get to operate it for the guy who did purchase it.

I do what he needs done, then I do whatever I'm working on, so it works out well for both of us.
