This evening features the first installment of TCM's September series Five Came Back, which focuses on directors Frank Capra, John Huston, John Ford, William Wyler, and George Stevens and their particular roles during World War II, not only as creators of morale-boosting entertainment but of the U.S. government's wartime messaging.
