Sing it Sam...

You must remember this
A kiss is just a kiss
A sigh is just a sigh
The fundamental things apply
As time goes by

And when two lovers woo
They still say "I love you"
On that you can rely
No matter what the future brings
As time goes by

Thanks Herman...

Hall Cinema, just made for old talkies and scheduled the best of them. And some not so good, at times.

Being next door to The Russian Tea Room didn't hurt, either.

Oh sure, everyone's seen "The Wizard of Oz", but it was so much better the time I saw it in a theater.

Then there was the Director's Cut of "Lawrence of Arabia", shown on the last remaining 90-ft-wide Panavision screen in my town before that theater gave way to multiplexes, which gave way to videocassette rental, which gave way to streaming...

It's great to that people now have such a bountiful smorgasbord of movies right in their own living rooms, but still, you've never really seen a movie until you've seen it on the big screen.

5 or 6 years ago, and you're right. It's INCREDIBLE when viewed that way. I've always loved Casablanca and probably know every word of it, but seeing it on a big screen added a whole new dimension.

I don't normally get teary during "Casablanca," but seeing Ingrid on the big screen did it.
