1. I've just discovered Girls About Town on YouTube.

I'm going to be watching it all through.

I haven't seen many of the films on show here, but I always try to watch any film with Kay Francis. She was good value – great style, beautiful eyes. Also a testament to the "old" Hollywood that wasn't afraid to cast women with individuality, unlike the clones of today. She couldn't help but look intelligent, even when she wasn't meant to be, and it gave a lot of her roles a depth that possibly wasn't always intended.

2. So good in so many films.

I can never understand why the work of Kay Francis has been largely forgotten. She was always good in all her films, even those that were not so good.

I hope the screening of her films on TCM revives an interest in her work. IMO she ranks along with Joan Crawford, Norma Shearer and Claudette Colbert in glamor and talent.

And some of her work is pre-code, too, which makes it of extra interest to the Classic Film Group, or at least a few key members.

On edit: A check through Netflix didn't turn up much of her work, but then their search system is inadequate. I did notice a couple of Kay Francis films I'd already seen, such as Trouble in Paradise.
