I think you and I have discussed this before. I did two of his piano pieces for recital back when (Preludes in G and C sharp minor).

One of the things that's great about his body of work is that there is such a flow to it. If you're a highly technical/mechanical player, you're not going to capture it as well someone who leans into what he's putting down on the page. There's so much room given to individual interpretation - you can almost create an entire mood out of each piece without ever altering a note.
