Jon Vickers Dead. Canadian Dramatic Tenor Was 88
Vickers died July 10. A stalwart at The Met, Covent Garden and elsewhere, he was known for his intense essay of the dramatic tenor repertoire - Otello, Tristan, Canio etc. And of course, Peter Grimes.
Vickers suffered with Alzheimer's for the past 20 years. One of the giants - he has been missed. Now, he's gone.
