The only guitarists above him are Jimi Hendrix, Chuck Berry, Jimmy Page, Eddie Van Halen, Jeff Beck and Sister Rosetta Tharpe.

Not sure I've ever seen a fairly short list of greatest guitarists that include Nile Rodgers.

They seem to have confused the importance of innovation, technique, popularity, band success, & hipster appeal, so they gave all equal weight.
Then, they just dropped rocks from a helicopter & went by proximity to the bullseye.
