(175,742 posts)They were great. It's one of the places where the tables and chairs are arranged around a dance floor. That configuration was perfect for them, and we all danced to their music. After they stopped singing, they came down and mingled with the crowd. I shook hands with Michael Doucet.

(57,106 posts)In the morning the traffic started to back up right where the Riverside exit of 55 was, and at night the traffic started thinning where I got on.

(175,742 posts)I probably would have avoided 55 and taken something like 31st or 47th Street. Traffic on those likely got heavy, but probably moved faster at rush hour. But that's me, I avoid expressways at rush hour.

(57,106 posts)... I never got to see BeauSoleil live. But I sure would have if I could have.

(175,742 posts)It was their starter house and they hoped to eventually move to Riverside. That never happened. She taught years at a Catholic grade school there. Her kids went to that school. I've not heard good things about the Berwyn public schools, so you made the right choice.
Seeing Beausoleil was a terrific experience. It was a fun evening.

(175,742 posts)Did you ever get to Graceland Cemetery? A lot of the city bigwigs from a century ago are there. The place has some amazing family mausoleums.
My favorite is Calvary, which is in Evanston on its border with Chicago. It's the closest cemetery here that I know of to the lake. You can hear the sound of waves from it. My Irish great-great grandmother is there in an unmarked grave. I have no idea why it's unmarked and no idea where it is.
