John Hartford - Up on the Hill Where They do the Boogie

Much like the Byrds and the Flying Burrito Bros, the Nashville establishment in the early 70s had no idea what to make of these longhairs making music on bluegrass instruments that was nothing like anything Bill Monroe ever wrote. But it ended up inspiring a whole new generation of players and gave bluegrass a new lease on life.

A true musical genius and multi-talented performer, it was a pleasure to have seen him several times before he passed.
