Those guys were from Central Illinois so they played the Chicago market extensively.
They were on the bill of at least 3 big festival-style shows I went to in the 70s.
That "save my life..." line was so iconic, that people thought that was the name of the song.
They're still out there gigging. Only one original member, but still kicking.
