Though most of the D.C. area should be dry through sunset, scattered showers and storms from the east will likely pop up throughout the D.C. area later Sunday night before potentially severe weather rolls in Monday, threatening to wash out Memorial Day events.
A few afternoon and evening showers may dot the radar late in the day, but will be widely separated. Any that develop could have some intense winds, said 7News First Alert meteorologist Brian van de Graaff.
A line of storms coming from West Virginia could make it to the D.C. area by midnight bringing lightning, heavy rain and strong gusts of wind.
