Stratus is Cobham's best. I'd say Moody Modes from Funky Thide of Sings is #2. Marcuse Feb 2019 #3

You know how drummers get when they front their own band. I like Tommy Bolin here better than with Deep Purple.

Bolin also appeared, with Lee Ritenour, on drummer Alphonse Mouzon's "Mind Transplant" album.

I saw that lineup of Deep Purple play in Denver, and Bolin seemed listless playing anything other than material from "Come Taste the Band", which came across as selfish to me.

I also saw The Tommy Bolin Band twice, the last time in late '76, just prior to his death in Miami in early December. He was coming on strong, and really something special.

It's odd seeing what is essentially a cover version. Very faithful to the original tone, I'd say.

Here's a touch of Bolin from "Mind Transplant." Unique guitar voice.
