She was married to Andrew Lloyd Webber and he wrote the female lead in "Phantom of the Opera" for her.

Heard that on Wait wait don't tell me on NPR this morning.

As I posted above I heard her on WAIT WAIT this morning. Pretty funny too.
This was her first big deal as a recording artist.

I was posting to you when you posted and did not see it.

She is quite possibly one of the best soprano's IMO around. Her range is amazing.
