(5,657 posts)This is the only song I ever knew of his growing up. I know lots of them now.
Ive been to his concerts...but not everybody knows his stuff. hes considered a one hit wonder - not in my book but ask anyone what Steve Earle songs they know.
Most wont know him and those who do will know this one and thats all.

(33,643 posts)I seen Steve 5 times, including on Copperhead Road tour at the Fillmore in SF, 1988 baby. I have a signed copy of the Jerusalem CD, from when I saw him do a solo acoustic show at Amoeba Records in the Haight in 2000 just after that record came out.
Calling Steve a one-hit wonder just feels wrong to me ... even if it's arguably true ... the man's a f***ing giant. It's like calling Leonard Cohen a one-hit wonder cause Hallelujah is only song of his anyone knows, know what I'm saying?
