I have been listening to the records curated by R. Crumb -

who is a real asset for those of us who like old American music.

He may be the most knowledgeable about early jazz but his tastes extend across all areas of early to mid 20th century American Music, and he has a massive collection of 78s.

He has made s bunch of collection LPs from his collection and browsing through those records is like mining for gold.

For instance, I had never heard of Big John Wrencher.

And the record covers are badass

There was always some blues players and a tasty polish to eat for a few bucks
It was big and had a feel of being in a bunch of different places and time all at once .
Hard to describe
This trailer is from a good doc about the history
